Mayor Ray Nagin lashed out Thursday at the technology firm that tried to recover the mayor's e-mail messages that have been deleted from city servers.

Nagin also said lost e-mails have been retrieved and they're on his desktop, but the Louisiana Technology Council said it has not seen the mayor's computer.

Government to help

The Ground Water Resources Program of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Office of Conservation is alerting farmers that the program is ready to help farmers install new wells if needed for irrigating.

New, replacement or drought-relief wells will all be part of the assistance program for farmers drilling the wells.
