December mineral lease sale brings approximately $2.3 million | Louisiana DNR
The board collected more than $2.3 million in bonuses in the December sale, bringing the total collected for FY 10-11 to more than $21.1 million. For the calendar year, that total is more than $47 million.
At this month’s lease sale, the board awarded 20 leases covering more than 4,300 acres, out of 51 nominated tracts covering more than 14,300 acres.
The Board sold leases in Acadia, Allen, Bienville, Cameron, Jefferson, Plaquemines, Sabine and Terrebonne parishes. Of the 20 tracts awarded, seven were in north Louisiana and 13 were located in the southern parishes.
