New foods at New Orleans Jazz Fest 2016 | NOLA


The lineup of food vendors and dishes doesn't change much from year to year. The festival sticks with restaurants, caterers and cooks who have consistently delivered quality food. This year, only two new dishes are highlighted on the Jazz Fest official list of food and vendors for 2016. They are Bacon Pecan Square at Marie's Sugar Dumplings in the Congo Square area of the Fairgrounds and Fresh Strawberry & Yogurt Trifle at Fireman Mike's Kitchen in the kids area.

Food fight: Uptown’s New York Pizza sues Metairie eatery over similar name | The Advocate


New York Pizza, which has been serving pizza pies on Magazine Street since 1980, has sued newcomer New York Famous Pizza, claiming the similarity of the Metairie restaurant’s name is causing confusion among the customer base the Uptown business has spent decades building up.

The suit, filed this week in 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna, says that since New York Famous Pizza opened at 3531 Jefferson Highway last month, at least 19 New York Pizza customers have asked owner Wayne DelCorral if he has opened a location in Metairie.

Zapp's new Drago's Charbroiled Oyster potato chips hit stores in April | WGNO


Love Zapp’s and charbroiled oysters? The potato chip company is releasing a new Drago’s Charbroiled Oyster flavor.  It will be sold for a limited time in 5 oz and 1.5 oz bags.

After much trial and error, at least 25 different batches, the final version was approved about three months ago.
