Low rain chances [ Local Stories]

The Mississippi River is rising. It's now up to 15.04 feet. The Corps of Engineers is now doing daily inspections of the levees in the Metro area. There are also 30 minor seepage points in the Metro.

Pollen is an issue. Oak pollen is the main culprit. We do not have a high rain chance anytime soon to wash out the atmosphere, so pollen will continue to be a problem.

The soil is very dry. Right now we are 2.58" of rain below average for the month. Highs in the 80s are causing a lot of evaporation. If you have a garden, it's time to water.

A weak cold front will move through early Sunday with a slight rain chance. It will be a little cooler. An area of low pressure will develop along the front and move our way giving us a higher rain chance going into Tuesday.
