New Orleans Restaurants, Grocery Stores Close Ahead of Hurricane Sally - [Eater New Orleans - All]


New Orleans restaurants announce plans to close in anticipation of Hurricane Sally as officials ask area residents to shelter in place

On Monday, with the Gulf Coast under a hurricane warning, many New Orleans restaurants and even grocery stores have announced plans to close Monday and Tuesday in anticipation of Hurricane Sally.

While the exact path of Hurricane Sally continues to shift, mandatory evacuations have been issued for areas in Southeast Louisiana and beyond, including neighborhoods in Orleans Parish that are located outside of the levee protection system. The City has suspended transit services, stopped flights in and out of Louis Armstrong International Airport, and closed schools for Tuesday.

As such, many New Orleans restaurants and grocery stores have closed for the remainder of today, Tuesday, or both.
