Delta is stronger, bigger and better organized [ Local Stories]

We've had some heavy rain in rainbands west of the Metro where a flood advisory was issued. This will be possible Friday and Saturday morning. A flash flood watch is in effect to our west for rainfall of 2-5". Be aware that locally heavy rain will be possible in rainbands moving across our area.

There is concern for tornadoes in rainbands. Models are indicating a potential for rainbands to move across the area late Friday into early Saturday morning.

A tropical storm warning is posted. There is the potential for tropical force winds beginning by Friday afternoon into the morning hours Saturday.

There is a storm surge warning from High Island, Texas to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Storm surge possible of 4-7 feet just west of Port Fouchon, 3-5 feet Port Fourchon to the Mouth of the Mississippi River and East of the River to Ocean Springs a storm surge of 2-4 feet.
