How to Support New Orleans’s Favorite Music Venues Right Now - [Eater New Orleans - All]

Tracking the livestreams, merch, and fundraising efforts available to help support New Orleans music venues

It’s been seven months since New Orleans’s music venues have been allowed to operate as normal, and the city is losing its storied clubs one by one; Frenchmen Street’s D.B.A. and Freret Street’s Gasa Gasa are both up for sale, and downtown’s Circle Bar likely won’t live past 2020. Kermit Ruffins’s Mother in Law Lounge is also in danger, with the musician recently launching a GoFundMe to appeal to the many visitors and locals who’ve enjoyed a New Orleans band at his Treme juke joint.

Though some live music is now permitted at restaurants and concert halls (that have obtained a Special Event Permit), many New Orleans music venues can’t yet have customers inside, and for those that can, it doesn’t make financial sense to host live acts for limited patrons. Here, Eater rounds up ways to support the clubs and venues that have helped make New Orleans a worldwide destination for live music. Did we miss a venue, GoFundMe, or merchandise?
