Frost and freeze this weekend [ Local Stories]

It's going to be cold in the mornings over the weekend. Lows will drop to near 30 to low 30s on the Northshore, and away from the lakes on the South Shore lows will be in the low 30s to mid 30s. Wind will die down, so that means potential for frost in those locations as well. Protect plants, pets and people. Lows Metro look to be in the mid 30s, so some frost potential as well. A breeze may help prevent there. Highs will be near 50 to the low 50s, so definitely a chilly weekend ahead. Mostly sunny Saturday with increasing clouds going into Sunday.

Rain chances go up early Monday. There is concern for a wintry mix. The global models are not indicating that at all. Showing the chance of a wintry mix more to our north. It will be something to monitor. The European Model has a low pressure moving onshore from the Gulf. This would give us an onshore flow with warmer air flowing into the area. That scenario is not favorable for a wintry mix. This will be something to monitor.
