Terence Blanchard's career spanning nearly three decades, which includes roughly 50 film scores and more than a dozen albums, he never once recorded an album in New Orleans.
That is until now.
After making an appearance on this year's Grammy awards show in a special segment celebrating New Orleans music, Blanchard, 47, said there was no better place to record his latest album, "Choices
," than at home.
"A Tale of God's Will," which earned him a Grammy in 2007 for best large jazz ensemble album. Blanchard was also nominated that year for best jazz instrumental solo for "Levees," the track from that album he composed for Spike Lee's HBO documentary "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts."

It is the second year with a best zydeco or Cajun music album category and the Recording Academy acknowledged five artists from Louisiana: Cedric Watson, Steve Riley and The Mamou Playboys, the Pine Leaf Boys, BeauSoleil and Michael Doucet!
