SWEPCO urges Northwest Louisiana customers to conserve electricity | shreveporttimes.com

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company may have to resort to rolling blackouts if people don't reduce their consumption of electricity today and tomorrow.

SWEPCO released a statement today urging their customers to avoid using unnecessary lighting or electric appliances and limit the use of air conditioning today and possibly tomorrow.

Government to help

The Ground Water Resources Program of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Office of Conservation is alerting farmers that the program is ready to help farmers install new wells if needed for irrigating.

New, replacement or drought-relief wells will all be part of the assistance program for farmers drilling the wells.
